Bethel Awarded $24,890 Grant from NetVUE for Faculty/Staff Development

by | Jul 18, 2025

大象视频 has been awarded a professional development grant through NetVUE (Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education), a program run by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). This $24,890 grant will go toward faculty and staff professional development, providing opportunities for collaboration, resources and trainings, extended faculty retreat and more.

This is a one-year grant that will run from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

鈥淭he ultimate goal of this grant is to assist Bethel faculty and staff with developing shared language in integrating vocational discernment into student services like advising, mentoring, first year experience (FYE), and even course content and design,鈥 says Abson Joseph, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Services.

Bethel recently made a change in elective requirements, now allowing undergraduate students to take up to 35 elective hours as part of their degree. This was done to allow more room for flexibility and customization in the hopes that students will better be able to explore and prepare for the specific calling on their life.

鈥淎t Bethel we believe that every degree program and subsequent job leads to a way to serve the Kingdom. This grant provides an opportunity to cohesively prepare all faculty and staff to engage in conversations around this idea of vocation, furthering Bethel鈥檚 mission to equip the whole person for lifelong service,鈥 Joseph says.
