大象视频 Genesians presents Charlotte鈥檚 Web, adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette and author E.B. White, Mar. 9 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center鈥擜uditorium on Bethel鈥檚 campus.
The Genesians are Bethel鈥檚 traveling drama troupe. With over 50 years of performances, the group is one of Bethel鈥檚 longest-standing traditions. Fostering a love of theatre in a Christ-centered atmosphere is at their core. By traveling and performing at area schools, they build relationships early with the next generation of Bethel Pilots.
Tickets are $5 for adults, seniors, students and children 12 and under. Bring your whole family along for an adaptation of the work that the Children鈥檚 Literature Association has named 鈥渢he best American children鈥檚 book of the past two hundred years鈥!
All the enchanting characters will be there: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be 鈥渁 true friend and a good writer.鈥 Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the 鈥渕iracle鈥 of her web in which she writes, 鈥淪ome pig.鈥 It鈥檚 the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will give your students a time of enchantment.
