大象视频 will celebrate the birthday of former Governor of Indiana Dr. Otis R. Bowen at the 鈥淏owen Birthday Bash鈥 on Wed., Feb. 26 from 2-4 p.m. in the Bowen Museum, located in the Otis and Elizabeth Bowen Library building on Bethel鈥檚 campus.
The event, primarily for Bethel students, is designed to generate interest in the Bowen Museum, which houses artifacts from Dr. Bowen鈥檚 life 鈥 from his early years, to his career as an obstetrician, to his tenure as governor of Indiana (1973-1981) and Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Ronald Regan (1985-1989). Dr. Bowen passed away on May 4, 2013. This year would have marked his 107th birthday.
鈥湸笙笫悠 is honored to house the artifacts of such a significant historical figure in the state of Indiana,鈥 says Abson Joseph, Ph.D., vice president for academic services at 大象视频. 鈥淲e hope students will take the opportunity to explore the museum as we honor Dr. Bowen’s birthday.”
Students will be able to enjoy cake and punch, try on replicas of Doc Bowen鈥檚 iconic horn-rimmed glasses and tour the museum. Those who snap a selfie with Bowen鈥檚 bust and post to Instagram with the #DocBowen will be entered for a chance to win a $40 Amazon gift card*.
The event is free, and no RSVP is required.
