Peyton Dickinson ‘27 has always felt a deep calling to care for and serve others, especially in their most vulnerable moments. She chose nursing as her major so she can live out her faith through compassion, service and healing.
“I love how nursing provides a tangible way to be the hands and feet of Jesus,” she says. “At Bethel, I’m not only gaining the skills I need to become a competent and successful nurse, but I’m also being shaped into a servant-leader who can make a deep impact in people’s lives.”
On campus, she’s served as a resident assistant (RA) and participant in the Nursing CoPilot mentorship program. These experiences have given her the opportunity to engage in campus life relationally, spiritually and academically.
After graduation, she hopes to become a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), something she’s felt a calling toward, with the goal of being a voice to the voiceless. Before pursuing this certification, she will need to spend several years in various nursing settings – something she feels Bethel’s nursing program is preparing her well for.
“The combination of hands-on clinical experience and Christ-centered teaching inspires me daily and reminds me why I chose this path — to be a light in the midst of pain, and to bring hope and dignity to every patient I serve,” she says.
