Rafael Ferreira ’28 is a business management major and varsity soccer player. He is heavily involved on campus, singing in the choir, worship band for Vespers, and performing in musicals including as Rolph in “The Sound of Music.” He has a vision of one day starting his own business that will include traveling, speaking and singing.
“Music reflects God’s love and joy for us. It is a talent, a gift from God that He has given to me, and I must use it to glorify Him and to be a light to those around me, that they will see and know who Jesus is,” he says.
Rafael is also a student-athlete and say his role as goalkeeper for the Men’s Soccer Team has helped him develop as a leader and taught him about teamwork and accountability. He has enjoyed connecting with other players from different cultures and backgrounds, who are united toward the same goal.
When he thinks of his career aspirations, he imagines his interpersonal connections and musical talent working together.
“I [want to] use my music and connections with people to shine Christ’s light in this world that is in need of Jesus,” he says.
