Hannah Dull ’23, an elementary education major, has spent the last two years teaching second grade at Concord East Side Elementary – in the same classroom where she student-taught.
“It was the best placement I could have asked for,” Hannah says. “This school’s culture is exceptional and has a diverse population of students, which was something I have really enjoyed.”
She felt excellently prepared for her field by expert faculty and fieldwork experiences, starting her freshman year. She enjoyed that Bethel’s Education Department created a family-like cohort of students who were able to collaborate with peers and learn from each other – friends Hannah still connects with today. She describes Bethel’s education faculty as “second-to-none.”
“Our professors modeled what it looks like to lead a class in love, grace and wisdom. They also helped me understand what it meant be an educator that loves Jesus, and relies on Him to get through the hard days at school. I would recommend Ƶ to anyone pursuing a degree in education,” she says.
Next year, Hannah will be moving back to her hometown, working in a first-grade classroom at the same elementary school that she attended as a child.
