FAQs for Potential Site Partner
What is BU-X?
BU-X stands for the 大象视频 Extension Studies program. 大象视频 is partnering with local churches, businesses听and organizations to offer local, affordable, accredited, supported and practical education to students who are 18-24 years old. For more on our vision and mission visit,听Our Story听page.听
Are these degrees of the same quality as on-campus programs?
大象视频 offers fully accredited programs and听is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (or HLC).听This program is able to utilize the same accredited degrees.听We are on a notification basis with the HLC, meaning we notify them of any new site locations as we acquire them.
Who teaches courses?
There are online course offerings taught by BU professors. However, in the event听your site grows to a large enough size, adjunct professors may be hired to teach at your location.
Do students still have access to financial aid?
Our financial aid staff counsels students on their financial aid package and payments. Students are not be able to receive Bethel granted scholarships due to the already reduced cost of tuition. See more about Tuition and Costs.
Where do students take classes?
Extension sites provide a location, internet access, and study space for students who are taking these online courses. Our Academic Director can help you walk through what is needed both physically and technologically.
Who will work with the 大象视频 Staff?
Many sites delegate or hire a听person who can facilitate the day-to-day operations of an on-site academic experience. This person and his/her staff also needs to be able to manage the daily operations, recruitment, academic advising, student leadership development听and the practicum experience. The BU-X staff recommends听that the site director initially commit 1-2 work days or 15-20 hours per week of administrative tasks, site planning听and mentoring students.
How soon can we start?
The ideal time to begin an extension site at your location is one year in advance. If your site is within the听, the timeline could be as short as six months. In most cases, you would begin recruiting your students in the fall of the school year before they could start attending classes at your location.
